Plan for real change instead of activities

In order to demonstrate meaningful outcomes and impact of projects and programmes, it is essential to focus on results at the initial stages of planning. This one week course takes you through the various steps of planning. It enables you to work with clear, sequential contemporary planning methods and tools to design your projects in a participatory and results-oriented manner.

Course objectives

  • be able to analyse the context to operate in and stakeholders to work with
  • be able to develop and appraise a project/ programme plan using Theory of Change tools
  • be aware of the importance of participation in planning
  • understand how to prepare and use budgets for result based planning and management

In this course at MDF Eastern and Southern Africa you will enjoy an international learning environment with participants from all over the world. This will enhance your learning experience with examples of Project Planning practices in diverse (cultural) settings.

You will round off the course with a personal action plan to implement your newly gained insights and skills back at work.
